About me

Behind a difficulty there is usually
an unmet need

I'm a psychologist based in Gdańsk, currently training in clinical sexology. I work with people struggling with emotional regulation, difficulties in relationships and life crises. I support those experiencing anxiety, low mood, high stress or a sense of isolation.

I also have experience working with autistic people and people with ADHD. I'm an LGBTQIA+ friendly psychologist, and my work is regularly supervised.

I believe that many difficulties come from unmet emotional needs and from ways of coping that once helped us survive, but today get in the way of living and building relationships.

I am drawn to the Schema Therapy (ST) approach, which helps people understand recurring emotional and relational patterns. In my work, I use tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) — approaches that support managing emotions, overcoming crises, and building more fulfilling relationships.

A note on language. I'm not a native English speaker, but I work comfortably in English throughout the whole session — there's no need to simplify what you want to say. If at any point a word doesn't come to either of us, we take the time to find it. That's part of the work, not an interruption.

How it works

What working together looks like

  1. Getting in touch

Email, phone or the online calendar. A sentence or two about what you're looking for is enough — the details can wait.

  2. First sessions

One to three meetings in which I get to know your situation and you find out how it feels to talk to me.

  3. Agreeing on direction

We name what we're working on together. Without this it's easy to drift into sessions that lead nowhere.

  4. Regular work

Usually once a week, 50 minutes. Every so often we stop and check whether what we're doing is actually helping.

  5. Ending

We finish at an agreed point. The last session is for looking back at what has changed.

Questions

Before you write to me

I live outside Gdańsk. Does that matter?

No. Online sessions work anywhere in Poland, and that's how most of my English-speaking clients work with me. All you need is a quiet place where nobody will interrupt you and a stable connection.

What's the difference between a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist in Poland?

A psychologist completes a five-year psychology degree and can consult, assess and support, but cannot prescribe medication — that's a psychiatrist, who is a medical doctor. A psychotherapist has completed several additional years of training in a specific approach. I provide psychological consultations and assessments. If you need one of the other two, I'll say so and help you work out where to look.

How does the adult ADHD assessment work?

It's three sessions. We start with an initial consultation, then go through the DIVA 5.0 structured interview in English, and finally discuss the results and I issue a written diagnostic opinion. I can provide the opinion in English as well as Polish — useful if you may need it outside Poland.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. I'm bound by professional confidentiality, which covers everything you tell me in a session. Polish law provides narrow exceptions, concerning situations where someone's life or health is in immediate danger. I explain this clearly in the first session.

Can I pay from a foreign bank account?

Yes — a standard European transfer works. Write to me and we'll sort out the details before the first session.

Choose whichever way suits you. If you write, two sentences about what you're looking for is plenty — you don't need to explain everything in advance.
